CHAUVET® Lights 2012 Audi Model Unveiling

ATLANTA, Ga. - An eager crowd recently gathered in the Phillips Arena as Jim Ellis Audi unveiled two new 2012 models in a showroom saturated with vibrant colors from over 100 CHAUVET® fixtures.

William Bullock, lighting designer for Southeast Staging, Inc., specified the installation of 18 COLORado™ Batten 72 Tour, 42 COLORado™ 1 Tour, 18 COLORado™ 1 VW Tour static LED wash lights, as well as 16 Legend™ 6500 moving heads, six D-Fi™ Plus wireless DMX systems, an Arena™ Hazer 3 and a Data Stream™ 4 DMX splitter.

COLORado™ 1 Tour and COLORado™ 1 VW Tour set the mood of the venue as an arch made of COLORado™ Batten 72 Tour linear wash lights ran red chase patterns and Legend™ 6500 moving heads projected intense beams to highlight new Audi A6 and A7 models through a thick cloud of haze. After the unveiling, attendees gathered for dinner and cocktails in the dining room washed with COLORado™ 1 Tour and COLORado™ 1 VW Tour fixtures. Long-throw washes were projected from Legend™ 6500 moving heads mounted to the second floor balcony railing.

One challenge Bullock and the rest of the Southeast Staging, Inc. team faced was the lack of power in the venue. To help minimize the challenge, all the fixtures were controlled using the D-Fi™Plus wireless DMX system.

“The challenge to the event was not only electricity but getting the signal to fixtures across the room and still keeping a professional, uncluttered look.” Bullock explained. “In fact the whole system ran off of four 20-amp outlets, and one was dedicated to the Arena™ 3 Hazer.”
